Cantor Arik Wollheim
Cantor
Arik Wollheim, whose father is also a
Cantor, was raised in Israel. He has been teaching B'nai Mitzvah in New
York, and earlier in Israel, for 10 years. Arik
has created and led youth choirs and was the head soloist of the Israeli Army
Choir. He has sung in a number of operas both here and in Israel and has
participated in dozens of concerts here and abroad. Arik was a first prize
winner in the famous Hassidic Song Festival in Israel (1994) and winner of the
Sharet Competition in both 1995 and 1996. He has led davening at
approximately 20 Synagogues in North America and 15 Synagogues in Europe and
Israel. He toured the United States with the Miami Symphony Orchestra in
1996 and 1997. Cantor Wollheim is an avid student of classical music and
opera and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Music.
Arik graduated from Yeshiva Yavne in
Israel and received his bachelors degree Music & Opera Studies from Brooklyn
College. He established and conducted the Shabbaton Quartet in Israel and
was the scholarship recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation
1997-98. Cantor Wollheim has been a member of the International Vocal Arts
Institute conducted by the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City since 1997.
Cantor Wollheim joined the Agudath
Sholom family in July 2001.
